Time, like many subjects in this book, is a subject with many questions. I think this subject has more questions than any other subject. That is because even the physicists are trying to discover what is happening with time. If they can travel through time, wormholes and black holes are all theories. The fact that movement depends on time is a philosophical theory explained by Fernando Savater.
I think this is the most interesting subject in this chapter because Savater explains it in a great manner. He says time is something we will never catch up with. He explains this with the story of Achilles and the tortoise. Which I think it's a great story and a true thing. I think that time now, that is ahead of us, is something we will never catch. We can catch it physically but not make up for the time he has in advantage.
I think time is something important in our lives and something we just can't waste because it will happen like it happened to Achilles.

I think we could look upon these examples and myths from Ancient Greeks, but we should change our perceptions and thoughts as we are supposed to be a whole new generation of human beings (modernism). I don't think that movement depends on time but viceversa.
ReplyDeleteMore than something we will never catch up with, is something that is almost uncontrollable and people does not comprehend that they live with time, not changing time, the order of history and of everything would change if we change time.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the importance you give to time, I think that as Savater states, movement depends on time since time is something that will continue happen after we die and happened before we were born, time is independent as from my point of view.
ReplyDeleteAlso I believe that as you say we can't be ahead of time, time is always ahead of us, that's why I believe in the importance of valuing the present and not worrying so much about the future or past.
I also think that is very interesting subject, because we are not completely certain of what it is about. We may guess, but we are not completely sure because it is not a thing we can experiment on. I think that paradoxes need to be study in order to talk about time traveling, because they are one of the worst case scenario that could happen and we need to be very careful
