Freedom

"Those who say that are free are the ones who less freedom have"

The concept of freedom fits perfectly in the statement "you dont know what you have until you lose it". have we ever thought of our liberty to move, to think, to go to some places, to want things?

In the initial phrase i put on this blog, i focus on the fact that those who say to themselves "im free, im not a sheep!" are those who may be even more sheep than the others. these people are the sheeps of the idea that they are not sheep. Freedom, like truth, is something we in life never appreciate completely. and like we saw in the videos about the ant and the organ donation, do we really make the decision or are we in an ilusion that we have the freedom of choice?

Have you ever thought of the ilusion of choice? Who are the real choicemakers? we or the people that present us the choices? are we really in control of the decision we make or everything is just a mere set-up? this topic really has more questions than answers. and like most concepts in philosophy only ourselves can answer them.

a great speech talking about this issue

  1. Luis Ariel, I liked the focus you gave us on your post, by making us question who really makes "our" decisions I think you gave us something to think about. As for my opinion and believe we are the one's that act but according to some implied situations. To make myself clear I believe an equilibrium between freedom and decision making thanks to others but be established. We are free to decide what we want, how we act, etc but also we base our decision in needs we may have or may present. But as you said in the end of your comment, only ourselves can answer the uncertainties we may have about freedom.

  2. nobody can take freedom from you... its impossible you always had it always have and always will have, (talking about our mortal life of course) and what makes you think that the people who say that they are not sheeps because they wanted not to be so are less free that other people with different opinions/choices? where is the freedom measurer?Illusions... always... freedom to believe them... too. But there is not always a conscious decision of how we are choosing among our possibilities...
